I have discovered a few things recently.
1) Spoken word has quite a lot of power behind it.
2) Peace comes in many forms, in many shapes and in many sizes. This is also true of happiness.
3) You can invite into your dwelling place feelings as well as energies and beings.
4) Music is a conduit for quite a few things.
1) Spoken word has quite a lot of power behind it.
I realized this in many ways. If you look at the post below titled "respect" you will see the very beginnings of this realization. My points therein are still valid, but this was my first clue, since I spoke the prayer aloud. Every time I have repeated that prayer or something similar to it I have gotten what I wanted. Also, I have noticed, that a spell that I performed for two people that should have taken longer than it did was sped up by my added verbage.
I believe the phrase "Say what you mean and mean what you say" comes in handy here. And of course the Rede and the golden rule, but I have also noticed that the more I mean what I say - and just how badly I want it - seem to speed things along accordingly.
2) Peace comes in many forms, in many shapes and in many sizes. This is also true of happiness.
I am starting to find little bits and pieces of peace everywhere now. Laying in my bed and reading a book, lighting a candle and dancing for my goddess, snuggling with my High Priest or even just looking into his eyes, and -gasp- interacting with my parents has suddenly become a lot easier. I do not know if this is because of so me change within me or some higher awareness or just having trained myself to chill out more often, but I'm not spazzing out as often, if at all during any given week.
I am also generally happier. I still have my moments of self-loathing, grief and the occasional angst, but they are becoming more infrequent. I find myself smiling more, and laughing more freely. It makes me wonder what has changed within me or the environment, or even my interactions with it, that has had a positive effect on my life. Perhaps it is the fact that my room is 100x cleaner than it used to be, and therefore good energy can flow through the room, or perhaps it is the fact that my mother and I are generally on decent terms about 95% of the time now. Once I figure it out I'll let you know.
3) You can invite into your dwelling place feelings as well as energies and beings.
I was given an old three-ringed binder from a Christian friend of mine who no longer needed it. It was gray and had clear plastic over it that created pockets for pieces of paper. That clear plastic had white lettering on it spelling out "Serenity" with the Japanese / Chinese symbols for it beneath the English lettering. The binder itself was falling apart so I took the clear plastic and cut it off, cut around said lettering and symbols, and taped the two copies that I got out of it over both entrances to my room - the door and the window. Ever since I forgot about their existence there has been very nearly nothing but peace in my room! and even in the rest of the house!
As I placed these simple tokens on the portals to my room, I said a very small bit of verbage asking whomever was willing to oblige for peace and serenity in my room and life. and, here it is! (hey wait - perhaps that act begot point number two?! Must investigate further.) I was aware of being able to invite being such as fairies and spirits into your dwelling place, and even energies to a degree, but I was not aware of the ability to invite raw emotion into a room. I will DEFINITELY be experimenting with this soon! I am hoping to be able to invite joy and other positive emotions into my general area once this ability is honed. And hey - since I can invite things in - I think I can also push things out. I'm definitely not getting rid of my serenity though - serenity is too close to the word sanity for my tastes (both start with an S, and end with -nity - the only difference is the guts of the word!) and I think that removing one will beget the absence of the other. I've certainly noticed it in the past.
4) Music is a conduit for quite a few things.
On par with inviting happiness or peace into the room, I've noticed that music can really change the energy in the room. To me, it is a raw material containing so many possibilities it's not even funny - similar to dirt. Look at how many things we can grow in it! How many things we can build out of it, even if it may require the addition or subtraction of an element or two! And how many children love to play in the dirt and mud? Quite a few.
Music holds quite a few things: raw emotion. The artist or mixer had to put a little bit of himself or herself into the piece when writing/mixing it... otherwise, how would such emotion come to be? We can create emotions to a certain extent, but is much easier to leech emotion from someone else than to create it yourself. An emotion is so very easily taken from most pieces of music that it -must- have had some emotional input from the creator. Whatever was put into that piece will radiate through the room and affect the mood of everyone present, young or old. and if you're attuned to it, it'll affect you sooner than most.
it also holds pure energy. This is easily created, from my experience. Granted, I've noticed that not a lot of people can do that... just create energy out of pure air. (by all technicality, energy isn't created if you look at it through physics, but you get my point. Not many people can tap into energy that easily.) For some reason, I am gifted with this uncanny ability. I've not perfected it, but when I can't tap into energy in most other places, music always does the job. ALWAYS. I have never put on a piece of music and not been able to take energy from the air it travels through. (Again, looking through physics, since it travels -through- air it has to distort or move the air in some way shape or form, therefore exciting the air and giving it energy. Much like a turtle moving through water will create ripples behind it.)
It holds imagery too! At least for me, anyway. Take a listen to this link: -Glorious Morning- Waterflame You'll see what I"m talking about. I get very vivid images when listening to this song. Let me know what you think, and what you see, in the comments if you've got the time. ^^
Well, I'm off for the night. Blessed Be!
